At OTN we are always quick enough to point out when the media is dumping on the visual arts, so here is a
link to today's editorial on Dan Arps winning the Walters Prize in the
NZ Herald. It's certainly a pleasant change to have a daily paper thoughtfully examine the gap between contemporary art and the audience at large rather than pull out the old "is it art?" argument.
